📢 Need a Schedule Change? Read This First!

If you need to request a schedule change, be sure to complete the correct Schedule Change Request Form on the LPHS website for your grade level.

✅ Include the exact name of the course you want to drop and the course you want to add.
⏳ Please be patient—requests take time to process, and submitting duplicate requests only slows the process for everyone.
⚠️ Remember: Graduation requirements take priority, and one schedule change request may affect your entire schedule.

The deadline to submit schedule change requests is Thursday, August 13, at 3:30 p.m.

📚 LPHS Students (Grades 9–12): Your Semester Exam Exemption Starts NOW! 🐉

Every student has the opportunity to earn a semester exam exemption—but it starts with the choices you make from the very first day of school.

To qualify, you must:
✅ Maintain good behavior (no ISS or OSS)
✅ Have 8 or fewer absences during the semester
✅ Have 8 or fewer first-period tardies - This means Study Hall attendance matters!
✅ Earn a B or higher in each quarter

Remember, weighted courses (AP, Honors, IB, Dual Enrollment) and semester-only courses are not eligible for exam exemptions.

Requirements include: Behavior: no in-school suspension (ISS) or out-of-school suspension (OSS) during the semester. Attendance: eight or fewer total absences, whether excused or unexcused, during the semester. Punctuality: eight or fewer tardies to first period, excused or unexcused, during the semester. Academics: earn a grade of B or higher in each quarter. Students will be notified of their exemption status during the class period before the scheduled semester exam. Weighted courses (Dual Enrollment, AP, IB, Honors) and semester-only classes (0.5 credit) are not eligible for exam exemptions. The bottom section explains attendance expectations on exam days, including that students exempt from all exams for a day do not need to attend, students exempt from only the first exam should arrive before the second exam begins, and students leaving after an exempt second exam must have a signed pass or parent check-out and leave campus immediately. The flyer uses navy blue, teal, white, and gold with icons representing behavior, attendance, punctuality, and academics.

Showing up ready to learn starts with coming to school in dress code every day. Following the dress code helps create a respectful, distraction-free learning environment where everyone can succeed.

The flyer explains the requirements for optional study hall exemption. Students must be a junior or senior, have passed the Algebra 1 EOC (BEST) or have a concordant score, passed the Grade 10 FAST PM3 ELA assessment or have a concordant score, and meet the minimum GPA requirement (2.0 for seniors, 2.5 for juniors). New this year, students must also have earned an acceleration point by passing an AP exam, passing a Dual Enrollment course, passing an industry certification exam, or currently being enrolled in a Dual Enrollment course. Students must also have a completed Optional Study Hall Permission Slip, notarized or witnessed by a school employee, on file in guidance. Eligible students should visit guidance during pre-week (8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) to pick up or submit the required form so they can be exempt beginning the first day of school. The flyer also highlights the SFSC Master Student Dual Enrollment course, available on the LPHS campus, as an option for students needing to meet the new acceleration requirement, and provides Mrs. Wilson's email for additional information.

Students can take as little as one course or several. Courses can be taken in person or virtually through Highlands Virtual School (HVS)! Please note that course availability varies by school.

Whether your student is looking to explore a new passion or get ahead, we offer incredible courses in:
