Dragon Pride Takes to the Streets for Lake Placid High Homecoming Parade
Lake Placid High School filled the town with green spirit today as students, faculty, and local residents lined the streets for the annual Homecoming parade.
The procession featured festive floats, with students dressed in green tutus, sporting painted faces, waving inflatable dragons, and holding signs like "GO DRAGONS!!". The LPH JROTC color guard stood in formation with flags, accompanied by the rhythmic beat of the school’s drumline marching through the route. Cheerleaders rode atop custom-themed floats decorated with banners encouraging the team to "Unleash the Dragons! Tame the Bulldogs!".
Community members and local youth lined the sidewalks and chain-link fences decorated with "Dragon Pride" cups to cheer on the procession. The festivities set an energetic tone for tonight's highly anticipated Homecoming game, where the Lake Placid Dragons take on the DeSoto Bulldogs.
