LAKE PLACID, FL — Hard work is about to pay off for the students of Lake Placid High School. This coming Friday, May 15th, the campus will transform into a summer oasis for the highly anticipated “Dragon Blowout” Celebration.
The event serves as a reward for students who have stayed on track throughout the semester. To secure an invite, "Green Dragons" had to meet strict criteria in behavior, attendance, and punctuality. Additionally, the celebration recognizes academic achievement, specifically for those passing key year-end benchmarks and End-of-Course (EOC) exams including PM3, Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology, and US History.
Fun in the Sun
The school has a packed lineup of activities to help students cool off after testing season:
Water Activities: The pool will be open for eligible students (following standard PE “Pool Rules”), alongside a series of “awesome” water slides set up on the grounds.
Dining: Local food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of "tasty food and cool vibes."
Vibe: A festive atmosphere led by the school mascot to celebrate the mantra: "Good Grades. Great Day. Dragon Way!"
Student Checklist
Students who have earned their way into the blowout are reminded to come prepared. The school recommends bringing the following essentials:
Sun Protection: Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.
Pool Gear: Towels and appropriate swimwear.
Money: Cash or card for the visiting food trucks.
The Dragon Blowout stands as a final "hurrah" for the student body, celebrating a year of discipline and academic success before the summer break begins.
