Lake Placid Elementary

On Friday, November 22nd the physical education department will be hosting a Turkey Trot Race during students’ specials time. Medals will be awarded to the top three boys and girls in each grade level. The race will take place on our school grounds. This event is designed to help promote an excitement around the concept of lifetime fitness. This is a special event for students. If a student receives a referral between Nov. 12 and the Turkey Trot, they will not be allowed to participate. Thank you for your support and we hope you come out and cheer for the students during the turkey trot. Parents must bring an ID and check in at the office before the race. El viernes 22 de noviembre, el departamento de educación física organizará una carrera de trote del pavo durante el horario especial para estudiantes. Se entregarán medallas a los tres mejores niños y niñas de cada grado. La carrera se llevará a cabo en los terrenos de nuestra escuela. Este evento está diseñado para ayudar a promover el entusiasmo en torno al concepto de fitness de por vida. Este es un evento especial para estudiantes. Si un estudiante recibe una referencia entre el 12 de noviembre y el Trote del Pavo, no se le permitirá participar. Gracias por su apoyo y esperamos que vengan y animen a los estudiantes durante el trote del pavo. Los padres deben traer una identificación y registrarse en la oficina antes de la carrera.

This is the last week to FEED OUR MONSTERS! Please donate individually wrapped candy to the front office. Our Monster Bash will be Friday, November 1st. We will be ready to move, groove, and collect some candy!!!

Tomorrow has a lot of great things happening! $3 for Snow Cones to help raise money for 5th grade. $1 Hat Day to raise money for our 5th Grade as well and DON'T FORGET EARLY RELEASE TOMORROW AND NO SCHOOL FRIDAY!

It's time for our annual MONSTER BASH! But to get ready we need to FEED the monsters, and the only thing they love is CANDY!!! So help us feed those monsters by bringing bags of individually wrapped candy to the office or sending it with your student to feed the MONSTERS!

WANTED! LPE is in need of some supplies that you may just have lying around the house! -Mr. Potato head pieces (we don't even need the whole thing!) -Magna Tiles, the real thing or the imitation version (they ALL work!) -LEGOS! Do you have a bag? A box? Want to get rid of the ones you keep stepping on? We would love to be able to have these items for our specials classes. If you drop off or send them in please label them for MRS. GROOVER. Thanks so much, and SPREAD THE WORD!

Beginning Wednesday, September 10th, breakfast will no longer be served after the tardy bell rings at 7:30am. Breakfast is available for all students from 7:00am to 7:30am each school day. If your child is running late to school, please make sure they eat breakfast before they arrive so they don't have to wait until lunch to eat. Thank you all for helping us to have such a great start to your school year!

Across the United States students, parents, family, faculty, fans, and alumni celebrate College Colors Day every year on the Friday before Labor Day. This year, it takes place on August 30. By rocking your college colors and apparel, you show spirit and school pride. So pick your favorite team and rock those colors TOMORROW!!!

HAT DAY IS COMING!!!! Wednesday, August 28th bring $1 and wear your favorite hat to school. Funds raised go towards the 5th grade field trip!
