Upcoming Special Events

Highlands Career Fair

On January 9 from 8:45-12:15 LPHS will be taking all interested students to the Alan Jay Arena in Sebring to learn about career opportunities.  Please complete the form in skyward or your Class google classroom AND get a permission slip from the front office and return to Mrs. McClellan by December 12th.  Make sure you have an emergency treatment form on file in the front office! You will receive 15 extra credit points to be used in the class of your choice if you attend.  

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment textbooks are due to Guidance on Wednesday, 12/18/24.

New textbooks should be available for pickup in Guidance by Thursday, 1/9/24.

School Dress Code

  • Referrals will start being given for being out of dress code.

  • No bellies - Even if you're wearing a jacket, jacket must be zipped up.

  • No hats in the building

  • Shorts and skirts at least mid thigh

  • Holes in jeans must be below fingertip length.

  • Shirts must have straps at least two fingers wide

  • No undergarments should be showing

Service Hours

Any students looking to get community service hours and wants to work the football concession stand during Friday Night football games, come see Coach Tomblin.

Food Pantry

There is a LPHS Food Pantry in the Media Center.  The Food Pantry is here to help with food items to get you through the weekends, holidays, and more.  We have hygiene products, food, school supplies, etc...So if you or any other children in your family need help, come see Mrs. Cheshire in the Media Center or Ms. Perry in Guidance.  This program is totally free and absolutely private.  Go see them and they can explain how it works

Check-Out Policy 

  • Check-out notes will be accepted for Excused absence reasons only. (See Student Handbook for Excused Absence reasons).

  • No phone calls will be accepted for check-out purposes. 

  •  Only parents/guardians listed in Skyward have the ability to sign a student out of school.
